DESCRIPTION
Gentle, daily chemical exfoliation can be beneficial for most skin types. It can work wonders for acne-prone skin; helping to relieve the buildup of excess sebum and dead skin cells that clog pores and cause acne lesions. It is also great for skin that is chronically dull or flaky. It will dissolve the stubborn glue-like bonds between the top layer of dead skin cells, thus revealing the glowy, fresh skin underneath. It is also one of the most effective ways to lighten hyperpigmentation (dark spots) from age, sun damage, or previous acne. Our Daily Botanical Enzyme Peel is an excellent, natural and convenient option for harnessing the benefits of chemical exfoliation. We chose lactic acid as the active exfoliating ingredient in this peel because it is as effective as the other alpha hydroxy acids while being the most hydrating and the least likely to cause irritation. We suspended it in an aloe vera gel base and added some natural antioxidant skin-soothers to the mix. The result is a product that strikes the balance between being gentle and being effective. It improves the appearance of skin and helps it better absorb serums and moisturizers.

Although the name suggests it should be used daily, we recommend using it only once or twice a week to start and then increasing to once a day as your skin builds up a tolerance. The beauty of this product is that you can adjust it to your skin's own needs. Those with acneic skin may choose to use it more often than those with sensitive, mature skin. If you find your skin becoming irritated, just use it a little less often. We also suggest the use of daily sunscreen when using any exfoliating product to protect your skin from damaging UV radiation. Our SPF 30 Organic Sunscreen is a great choice.

BENEFITS

    • Creates an environment for optimal absorption of skincare products

    • Decreases hyperpigmentation from age spots and acne, creating a more even skin color

    • Stimulates new skin cell production; increases collagen and elastin production

    • Decreases fine lines and creates a more refined skin texture

    • Aids in the removal of impacted sebum and excess skin cells from pores

    • Helps destroy acne causing bacteria

    • Stimulates blood flow, creating a healthy glow

KEY INGREDIENTS
Lactic Acid – A gentle alpha hydroxy acid that reduces acne breakouts and signs of aging by exfoliating the top, dead layer of skin (that is, by increasing the rate of cellular turnover). It also hydrates, increases barrier lipid function in skin cells, and brightens skin tone for a more glowy, youthful appearance. The human body produces, and utilizes, this natural acid to maintain its optimal pH balance in the defense of fungus and bacteria. When compared to glycolic or citric acids, lactic shows greatly reduced irritancy while offering pronounced efficacy in exfoliating and skin rejuvenating properties.

Aloe Vera Leaf Juice – Research has shown aloe vera's unique ability to regenerate cellular membranes and boost the production of fibroblast cells (responsible for collagen production) six to eight times faster than the rate of normal cellular function. It is capable of penetrating the skin almost four times faster than pure water. This allows other nutrients and botanical actives to sink deeper into the underlying layers of the skin for optimal results. Aloe vera contains almost 20 amino acids, calcium, magnesium, enzymes, vitamins, polysaccharides, nitrogen and other components that heal and nourish.

Rooibos Tea Extract – Has a naturally high concentration of antioxidants, flavonoids, vitamin D and zinc. Contains a very effective antioxidant for the skin called superoxide dismutase. Helps prevent skin disorders like acne and rashes. Also possesses strong antibacterial properties.

Niacinamide – A compound formed when vitamin B3 (niacin) bonds with amino acids, niacinamide provides many skin soothing advantages. It enhances the communication and binding together of healthy surface skin cells. This encourages less inflammation, fewer wrinkles, and tighter skin tone. It also helps calm and relieve rosacea symptoms and is great for sensitive skin because of its redness-reducing abilities. It is especially beneficial when used in conjunction with a chemical exfoliant (AHAs, BHAs and retinoids).

SKIN TYPE

Normal, problematic, oily & combination skin.

INGREDIENTS

Aloe barbadensis leaf juice, lactic acid (vegetable-based), populus tremuloides (aspen) bark extract, aspalathus linearis (rooibos) extract, D-panthenol (pro-vitamin B5), niacinamide (vitamin B3), zingiber officinale (ginger) extract, and calendula officinalis flower extract.

Warning: It is common to feel the enzymes activate once applied to the skin. This should result in a slight tingling sensation and should subside within several minutes. If the tingling sensation continues after several minutes, rinse with water to neutralize.

DIRECTIONS

Use after cleansing. Apply a few drops to a cotton ball and apply over face and neck, avoiding eye areas. Allow enzyme peel to dry completely, rinse well and pat dry before spraying face and neck with balancing mist.

Recommended use: Start with one treatment per week. Increase usage as tolerance is built up.

CARE GUIDE

DO

  • Always read the care label and washing instructions before washing your clothes.
  • Arrange your laundry into groups with similar wash care instructions and organise into whites, darks and colours.
  • The care label washing temperature is the highest permitted temperature.
But if you are unsure, always wash at a lower temperature rather than higher.
  • Rinse swimwear immediately after use and do not wring.
  • Turn garment inside out before washing.

DON'T

  • Avoid using too much detergent.
  • Do not use fabric detergents which contain bleach.
  • Do not tumble dry garment unless indicated on the care label.
  • Do not iron prints, trims or embellishments.
  • Do not leave garments with white and contrast coloured panels soaking for prolonged periods.
  • Garments with metal trims should not be left to soak.

FOOTWEAR

  • We recommend treating suede & nubuck with an appropriate protector before wear.
A suede brush will help to keep the nap raised & the suede looking new.
  • If your shoes get wet, stuff them with newspaper and dry naturally, away from a direct heat source.
This will prevent the outer materials drying out and cracking.
  • Unless otherwise stated, trainers and canvas shoes should not go in the washing machine.
If they get dirty, let them dry and remove the excess dirt with a clean bush or cloth.
  • For heeled products, check top pieces (heel tips) regularly & when they start to wear down take them to a good shoe repair shop and have them replaced to avoid slipping or causing further damage to your shoes.
  • When purchasing leather products from ASOS please remember that it is a natural product & some variations between pairs in terms of colour and finishes may occur.
